Especially when setting angular gemstones such as princess cut diamonds, the edges of the gemstones themselves and the edges of the settings are critical areas. In order to avoid any damage to the delicate edges of the gemstones when fitting them into the bezel settings, it makes sense to optimise the edges of the setting to the geometry of the stones. The figure 2K-AU with its non-serrated front-side offers an optimal solution. It prevents unintended milling contacts on the polished edges when working in axial direction.Furthermore, the 2K-AU can also be used, to cut out or separate the individual prongs during the setting and to remove the bars between neighbouring gemstones. As part of our AU series, the 2K-AU is made of finest-grain tungsten carbide allowing the setters to also work in a wide range of hard materials such as white-gold, platinum, titanium and jewellery steel.
